Legacies

« Back to Support Us

Many people who leave us a legacy do so as a sign of appreciation for the support we’ve provided them or their loved ones at times of need. Others remember us in their will because they want to support a reputable, independent local charity that does not have to fund London Head Office costs. Considering leaving us a gift in your will is a fantastic way of supporting Age Concern Liverpool & Sefton to continue improving the quality of local older people’s lives.

Whether you are writing a first will or updating an existing one it is vitally important that the detail of who you are leaving a gift to is 100% correct. For example, if you wanted to leave some money to our charity and simply stated the benefactor as “Age Concern” there is a very strong chance that the legacy won’t reach us. If you want to support the work we do with local older people then it is important to state that you wish your gift to be given to “Age Concern Liverpool & Sefton, registered charity number 517902”

Leaving a financial gift to a charity in your will can have tax advantages too.

Leaving us a gift may reduce the amount that your estate is taxed, which may benefit your loved ones, and the gift may be tax-free for us. The law relating to this does change from time to time so please take advice about this when you come to write or amend your will or contact HMRC (Click here)

We believe that the best way to make a will is through McClure Solicitors, who will make or review your will for free, and ensure that all of the legal technicalities are observed and correct. Click the below to find out more:

or call us on 0151 330 5678 or 01704 542 993 to make an appointment.

How your gift will be used

Unless you have specified in your will how the gift is to be used, it is normally our Board of Trustees who decides what is the best way that your gift can support our vital work with local older people. Please feel free to contact Grant Flexman-Smith on

0151 330 5678 or at grant.flexman-smith@ageconcernliverpoolandsefton.org.uk if you have any questions or concerns or if there is a specific way in which you would like your gift to be used.
